Click here to download Windows Media Player if you need this program to listen to the samples on this page.

We recommend that you play the sample file after it finishes downloading which will ensure that you hear the recording in one continuous cycle (as it should be).  These recordings have been saved as wma (windows media audio) files with attributes of mono 28.8 FM radio sampled at 22KBit  which is a process that does NOT seriously alter the sound quality when compared to the source files or other methods of compression.

Some other points to note:  Three beeps at the end of the CB transmission are automatically generated by the Easycom to signify end of radio transmission and will occur when the rider releases the PTT switch.

The following example demonstrates the bike to bike (car in this case) performance of the Easycom and its UHF CB radio link.

sample_60_fm28.wma @ 18Kb and runs for 10 seconds. to listen to a brief  conversation recorded while travelling at 60kmh.

sample_110_fm28.wma @ 13Kb and runs for 4 seconds. to listen to a brief transmission from a 1999 Honda CBR1100xx Blackbird using an Easycom ELITE / Uniden UH045 and travelling at 110kmh to a car mounted Uniden UH089 which maintained an approx 500metres distance behind the Blackbird. The recording was made in the car using a Sony DSC-P8 digital camera and connected acoustically to the CB (i.e. no cable connection).

The following example demonstrates the intercom performance. The recording was achieved by installing a temporary high quality audio transformer coupled link between the left speaker output of the main and pillion amplifiers within the Easycom head unit and feeding the resulting signal into the line input of a minidisc digital audio recorder. This arrangement provides a fair indication of typical sounds heard by rider and pillion passenger.

sample_int_cold_fm28.wma @ 69Kb and runs for 45 seconds.to listen to a brief intercom conversation recorded while travelling from standstill to 60kmh.

sample_int_160_fm28.wma @ 44Kb and runs for 16 seconds. Click here to listen to a brief intercom conversation recorded while travelling on a road suited to high speed racing. Vehicle speed varies from 120 to 160kmh. Note that the Easycom range is designed to perform to an acceptable level up to 120kmh.
